NEW: WISCONSIN DESIGNATED AS A REGIONAL TECH HUB THANKS TO BIDEN-HARRIS ADMINISTRATION

WASHINGTON, D.C. — On Monday, the Biden-Harris Administration announced that Wisconsin — along with 31 other sites nationally — will become a national Innovation and Technology Hub through the Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration. The Wisconsin Biohealth Tech Hub, led by BioForward Wisconsin, will make a major investment in personalized medicine and emerging healthcare approaches that tailor tests, treatments, and therapies from a patient’s unique genetic code and other personalized factors.

“There’s no doubt about it: President Biden is doubling down on his commitment to Wisconsin workers and the Wisconsin economy with the Biden Administration’s investment in Madison-based Bioforward Wisconsin,” said Mayra Macías, Executive Director of Building Back Together. “The Wisconsin Biohealth Tech Hub is a major investment in the technology and health infrastructure we need to grow our economy for decades and to help the Midwest become a global leader in personalized medicine.”

The Wisconsin Biohealth Tech Hub is not the only tech hub that will impact Wisconsin: Wisconsin will also see investments through Chicago’s Bloch Tech Hub, a project led by the Chicago Quantum Exchange in quantum computing, and Minnesota’s MedTech Hub 3.0, a project led by Minneapolis Saint Paul Economic Development Partnership in artificial intelligence.

Here’s what Wisconsin’s elected officials are saying about the Biden Administration’s Wisconsin Biohealth Tech Hub:
