STATEMENT ON PRESIDENT BIDEN’S STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS FROM BUILDING BACK TOGETHER

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Building Back Together Executive Director Mayra Macías released the following statement after President Biden’s State of the Union address:

“Guided by President Biden’s leadership, the state of our nation stands strong, with a promising future ahead. Since day one, the Biden-Harris Administration has prioritized America’s hardworking families by creating good-paying union jobs and opportunities for all Americans, all while working to lower costs. Thanks to President Biden’s agenda that is building our economy from the bottom-up and middle-out, our nation has seen one of the fastest post-pandemic recoveries with a record number of jobs created, record low unemployment rates, and a consistent decline in inflation.

“As MAGA Republicans continue to prioritize the ultra-wealthy and large corporations while proposing cuts to essential programs like Medicare and Social Security, President Biden’s administration prioritizes hardworking families by investing in upgrading our nation’s critical infrastructure, alleviating the burden of student loan debt, lowering costs, and making health care more accessible. The Biden-Harris Administration’s track record stands as evidence that our union is strong and under President Biden’s leadership, will only continue to prosper in the years to come.”
