NEW POLLING: MAJORITY OF AMERICANS OPPOSE EXTREME MAGA AGENDA, SUPPORT PRESIDENT BIDEN’S WORK TO LOWER COSTS

By a 34-point margin, independents oppose extreme MAGA plan that threatens Medicare and Social Security and raises costs for working families 

Two in three Americans remain supportive of President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act, which is lowering costs for working families

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Navigator Research released new polling that underscores the unpopularity of Congressional Republicans’ extreme agenda in comparison to President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act, which lowers costs for working families and remains widely popular. A majority of Americans, including 57% of independents, oppose the MAGA party’s “Commitment to America” agenda, which would put Medicare and Social Security on the chopping block, jack up health care costs by repealing the Affordable Care Act, and impose a nationwide abortion ban, putting fundamental rights and freedoms at risk.

In contrast, President Biden just delivered the broadly popular Inflation Reduction Act, which is lowering the cost of health care, prescription drugs, and energy bills for working families. He continues to fight to defend our freedoms, while the MAGA party pushes for their extreme policy agenda, which is wildly out of touch with the priorities of most Americans.

New polling from Navigator Research reveals how deeply unpopular this extreme MAGA policy agenda is:

  • By a 24-point margin, a majority of Americans oppose the extreme MAGA agenda.
    • 57% of independents oppose this extreme MAGA agenda.
    • 79% of Democrats oppose this extreme MAGA agenda.
  • Their extreme agenda is unpopular across racial demographics:
    • 64% of Black Americans oppose this extreme MAGA agenda.
    • 57% of Hispanic Americans oppose this extreme MAGA agenda.
    • 56% of AAPI Americans oppose this extreme MAGA agenda.


This new polling also underscores the broad popularity of President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act to lower costs:

  • By a 43-point margin, a majority of Americans support the Inflation Reduction Act.
    • 68% of independents support the Inflation Reduction Act.
    • 90% of Democrats support the Inflation Reduction Act.
  • The Inflation Reduction Act is popular across racial demographics:
    • 84% of Black Americans support the Inflation Reduction Act.
    • 78% of Hispanic Americans support the Inflation Reduction Act – an increase of 14 points since August.
    • 73% of AAPI Americans support the Inflation Reduction Act.
