NEW NAVIGATOR POLL UNDERSCORES POPULARITY OF BUILD BACK BETTER ACT AS PRESIDENT BIDEN’S POPULARITY GROWS

President Biden’s Build Back Better Act is supported by three in five Americans

Three in five Independents say passing the Build Back Better Act is “urgent”

WASHINGTON, D.C. — New polling from Navigator Research highlights the enduring popularity of the Build Back Better Act and its key provisions. A majority of Americans support the legislation overall, and 11 different reforms in the bill — from lowering health insurance premiums and allowing Medicare to negotiate drug costs to providing four weeks of paid family and medical leave and establishing universal preschool — earn support from at least two in three Americans.

And the American people agree that passing this plan is “urgent,” with three in five Independent voters agreeing that there is a pressing need to pass President Biden’s plan to build back better. This latest data comes as Navigator polling also shows the President’s approval rating increasing after congressional passage of his Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal.

“It is overwhelmingly clear that both the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal and the Build Back Better Act are popular with the American people, and that they are eager to see their representatives in Washington deliver on these investments that will together grow the economy from the middle out, and not the top down,” said Building Back Together Executive Director Danielle Melfi. “That’s why it is critical that Congress urgently pass the Build Back Better Act to lower costs for working families, create millions of good-paying jobs, cut taxes for millions of American families, and make our tax system fairer.”

Key highlights from the Navigator poll:

  • 59% of Americans support the Build Back Better Act.
