ICYMI: NEW POLLING HIGHLIGHTS STRONG, CONSISTENT POPULARITY OF PRESIDENT BIDEN’S BUILD BACK BETTER ACT

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This morning, Navigator Research released new polling that once again confirms the vast majority of American people support the Build Back Better Act. The new polling shows that nearly three in five Americans support the legislation, and that this support holds when they learn how it will be paid for — by making the ultra-wealthy and big corporations pay their fair share. It is no surprise that the Build Back Better Act remains deeply popular, because it will dramatically lower the cost of living for families by bringing down the cost of health care, child care, elder care, prescription drugs, utility bills, and more. Research shows that these savings will be significant, with a recent report by the nonpartisan think tank Third Way showing that the legislation will save the typical family of four up to $7,400 a year in lower costs.

New polling from Navigator Research underscores the popularity of President Biden’s Build Back Better Act:

  • 59% of Americans support the Build Back Better Act when given a brief description of the legislation that includes paid leave.
    • 86% of Democrats support the Build Back Better Act.
    • 51% of Independents support the Build Back Better Act.
  • 59% of Americans support the Build Back Better Act when given a brief description of how the legislation will be paid for.
    • 85% of Democrats support the Build Back Better Act when given a brief description of how the legislation will be paid for.
    • By a 20 point margin, Independents support the Build Back Better Act when given a brief description of how the legislation will be paid for.
