CELEBRATING PRESIDENT BIDEN’S HISTORIC INVESTMENTS IN GEORGIA’S INFRASTRUCTURE DURING NATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE WEEK

WASHINGTON, D.C. — This National Infrastructure Week, Building Back Together is celebrating the historic progress made by the Biden-Harris Administration’s investments in Georgia’s infrastructure — investing $10.2 billion to fund 487 projects across the state.

“This National Infrastructure Week marks a pivotal moment as we celebrate the Biden-Harris Administration’s historic investments to upgrade Georgia’s critical infrastructure — all while simultaneously creating thousands of good-paying jobs for workers nationwide. These investments, from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Inflation Reduction Act, and more, showcase how President Biden is delivering for workers and investing in the long-term success of our nation’s economy,” said Blake Goodman, Building Back Together Communications Director. “As we head into the summer, millions of hardworking Georgians traveling around the country will see freshly repaired highways, brand new airport terminals, and union crews upgrading our infrastructure as President Biden’s Investing in America agenda gets to work prioritizing investments in their communities and the creation of the jobs of the future, today.”

Notable Infrastructure projects funded by the Biden-Harris Administration include:

  • $40 million to upgrade and modernize the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport’s Concourse D in Georgia to increase passenger capacity, improve accessibility, and boost energy efficiency.

  • $178 million to build a new battery facility in Augusta, GA to supply the needs of North American electric vehicle and energy storage markets.
