WASHINGTON — In celebration of Earth Day and in commemoration of the Biden-Harris Administration’s progress towards combating the climate crisis, advancing clean energy projects, and creating jobs across America, Building Back Together’s Executive Director Mayra Macías released the following statement:
“In the wake of the ongoing climate crisis, President Biden has taken action to protect those frontline communities most affected by climate change while also creating jobs for millions of Americans by passing the largest investment in climate action in history — paving the way to a healthy, equitable future for all.
“The Biden-Harris Administration has stepped up to the task from day one to address the climate crisis, create clean energy jobs, and protect our planet for future generations. This administration has tackled this crisis head-on and transformed it into an opportunity for millions of Americans to participate in the economy of the future, and we at Building Back Together are thrilled to celebrate that success.”
Since taking office, the Biden-Harris Administration has funded 523 new clean energy projects across 47 states — creating 271,713 new jobs and investing more than $352 billion into local economies. These investments are helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, combat the effects of the climate crisis on vulnerable groups, and create good-paying jobs for hardworking Americans.
