BUILDING BACK TOGETHER CELEBRATES KICK-OFF TO MEDICARE DRUG PRICE NEGOTIATION

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Building Back Together spokesperson Eileen Garcia released the following statement celebrating the start of Medicare drug price negotiations:

“Today marks a key moment in America’s history. Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act signed by President Biden, Medicare is kicking off its first-ever negotiations with big drug companies to lower the cost of 10 of the most commonly used prescription drugs in the country. Medications don’t work if people can’t afford to take them, and with price negotiations officially beginning, more seniors will be able to access the critical care they need to live healthier lives.

“Despite attempts by Republicans in Congress to repeal the Inflation Reduction Act, the Biden-Harris Administration has not wavered from their determination to lower costs and make sure that all people have access to affordable, life-saving care.”
