THREE YEARS OF HISTORIC INVESTMENTS THROUGH THE BIPARTISAN INFRASTRUCTURE LAW

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Building Back Together Deputy Executive Director Javier Gamboa released the following statement on the third anniversary of President Biden signing into law the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act — also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law:

“In the three years since the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law was signed into law, $568 billion dollars have been invested in all corners of the country to help rebuild and revitalize local communities. This is real money, helping working-class Americans, and is making generational economic impacts at the local and national level — all thanks to the leadership of President Biden and Vice President Harris, who brought together lawmakers from across the aisle to make government work for the people.

“We are witnessing an infrastructure renaissance in the country. From projects rebuilding our bridges and highways to revitalizing our ports and airports and upgrading water systems by removing lead pipes so communities have access to drinking water — the list goes on and on.

“Despite the Republicans in Congress that voted against the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law continuing to take credit for its investments in their districts, the record reflects that these investments are only a reality because of the middle-out, bottom-up policies implemented by Congressional Democrats and the Biden-Harris Administration that have shown time and time again positive results.

“Today, we celebrate this milestone; however, as Republicans get ready to take back control of the House of Representatives, Senate and the White House, there is no doubt that they will take credit for the accomplishment of Congressional Democrats and the Biden Harris Administration. We remain committed to making sure the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law remains the law of the land and will continue to remind the American people that this progress only comes when we pass bold, progressive policies. “
