ON THE HEELS OF A RECORD-SETTING HOLIDAY SEASON, MORE POSITIVE ECONOMIC NEWS
Bloomberg: “There Are Some Hints That Job Growth Is Booming and Inflation Is Moderating”
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Thanks to President Biden’s unyielding focus on jumpstarting the economy, untangling supply chains, and bringing down the cost of living for families, Americans are coming off a record-setting holiday season that saw shelves stocked and packages arriving on time, and seeing positive signs of continued job growth and the easing of prices.
Meanwhile, Congressional Republicans have taken to rooting against the economy for the sake of political gain, and continue to uniformly oppose legislation that would lower the cost of health care, prescription drugs, child care and elder care, housing, utility bills, and more.
The President has taken aggressive actions to get goods moving and keep shelves stocked, and Americans saw a holiday season where sales rose and packages arrived on time:
- MSNBC: “Republican leaders said Democrats and their policies were going to ‘ruin Christmas’ for consumers. The GOP’s predictions were spectacularly wrong.”
- Associated Press: “Holiday sales rose at the fastest pace in 17 years”
- New York Times: “The UPS and the Postal Service delivered about 99 percent of their packages on time by that measure between Nov. 14 and Dec. 11, and FedEx was close behind at 97 percent, according to ShipMatrix.”
- In fact, delivery times for UPS, USPS, and FedEx were 26 to 40 percent faster than before the pandemic.
- And the Biden-Harris Administration isn’t letting up, announcing new actions to continue getting goods to consumers today.
Now, the latest data shows that the Biden economy continues to improve, with strong job growth and signs of easing costs for families:
- Bloomberg: “There Are Some Hints That Job Growth Is Booming and Inflation Is Moderating”
- CNBC: “Private job growth totals 807,000 in December, more than doubling expectations, ADP says”
- MarketWatch: “Private-sector job growth in December is strongest in seven months: ADP”
- Bloomberg: “Inflation Shows Signs of Cooling in U.S. Manufacturing Data”
