Washington, D.C. — Today, Building Back Together is launching a new nearly $2.5 million television campaign to highlight how the Build Back Better Act will lower costs for American families — cutting health care costs, lowering the cost of prescription drugs, saving Americans money on their utility bills, and more. The ad, “Looking Out for Working Families,” also emphasizes how the plan will “cut taxes for millions of working families” and will be “paid for by making the ultra-wealthy pay the taxes they owe” without raising taxes on Americans making under $400,000 a year.
The new television ad will run on broadcast and cable in key markets across the country, including in Arizona, New Hampshire, Nevada, and in Washington D.C. The campaign comes as the President continues to work to lower the cost of living for everyday Americans, including working to pass the Build Back Better Act as swiftly as possible. Meanwhile, Republicans in Congress have consistently opposed this legislation that will lower costs for everyday families and bring down inflation. In fact, 17 Nobel Laureates, former Treasury Secretaries, and other independent experts have said that President Biden’s economic plans are working, and they’ll be the answer to lowering costs and bringing down inflation — not the cause of it.
“The President is using every tool at his disposal to take on inflation caused by the pandemic, bring down prices, and build back better for working and middle class families,” said Building Back Together Executive Director Danielle Melfi. “The Build Back Better Act will do exactly that — it is a historic investment in lowering costs for American families that will strengthen our economy and create millions of good-paying jobs while ensuring the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share in taxes. It’s time for the Senate to pass this legislation so that the American people have more breathing room on their everyday costs.”
This new campaign comes on top of Building Back Together’s latest $10 million campaign to boost the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Build Back Better Act.
Polling has consistently shown the deep popularity of the President’s agenda, and research commissioned by Building Back Together has shown that Members of Congress who back the agenda see a 17-point boost in support in battleground states and House districts.
