ICYMI: VICE PRESIDENT HARRIS MEETS WITH STATE AND LOCAL LEADERS FIGHTING TO DEFEND ABORTION RIGHTS NATIONWIDE

Vice President Harris reaffirms the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to defending access to abortion

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Biden-Harris Administration has taken significant steps to defend Americans’ fundamental freedoms since the Supreme Court’s harmful decision to overturn Roe, including protecting the freedom to travel between states to seek care, ensuring medication abortion is available nationwide, and directing medical professionals to provide emergency abortion care, regardless of state law, to save lives.

In the wake of the Supreme Court’s leaked draft opinion and in the months since, Vice President Harris has held meetings with doctors and nurses, faith leaders, law professors, and state and local leaders to discuss the impact of the decision and ways the administration can continue to fight for patients and providers.
