ICYMI: NEW YEAR, SAME STORY: BUILD BACK BETTER ACT IS STILL DEEPLY POPULAR

WASHINGTON, D.C. –  Data for Progress released new polling that shows the Build Back Better Act remains consistently popular, with over three in five Americans supporting the legislation. The polling, released yesterday, also shows that the individual components are popular, with 11 individual components receiving support from a majority of Americans.

The popularity of the legislation also increases when Americans learn how the legislation will be fully paid for — by making the ultra-wealthy and big corporations finally pay their fair share. The enduring, strong support for this legislation is no surprise given that it will lower the cost of living for families by bringing down the cost of health care, child care, elder care, prescription drugs, utility bills, and more.

New polling from Data for Progress underscores the popularity of President Biden’s Build Back Better Act:

61% of Americans support the Build Back Better Act, and 63% of Americans support the legislation when hearing how the legislation will be paid for.

  • The individual components of the Build Back Better Act are very popular:
    • 74% of Americans support the long term care investments in the Build Back Better Act.
    • 72% of Americans support expanding hearing coverage under Medicare in the Build Back Better Act.
    • 62% of Americans support the clean energy and job investments in the Build Back Better Act.
    • 61% of Americans support the housing affordability and preservation components in the Build Back Better Act.
