EXPANDING ACCESS AND AFFORDABILITY: THE BIDEN-HARRIS LEGACY IN ADVANCING HEALTH CARE AND BOOSTING FAMILY SUPPORT
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Biden-Harris Administration has made unprecedented strides in improving access to affordable health care and supporting American families with essential care services. From lowering prescription drug costs to expanding coverage through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to protecting Americans from junk insurance, this administration has worked to make health care more equitable and accessible for all. Through initiatives like Medicare drug price negotiation, capping insulin prices for Medicare recipients and expanding ACA coverage for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients, President Biden and Vice President Harris have driven the nation’s uninsured rate to historic lows and ensured critical protections for all Americans.
The administration’s commitment to supporting health care equity is further demonstrated through actions to bolster cybersecurity in health systems and address high child care costs. These efforts support millions of working families, small business owners and vulnerable populations across the country. By prioritizing these and other actions, President Biden and Vice President Harris have laid the groundwork for a more inclusive, secure and accessible health care system for generations to come.
“As we reflect on the past four years, we are reminded of the impact that meaningful health care reform can have on individuals and families across the country,” said Eileen Garcia, Deputy Director of Strategic Initiatives at Building Back Together. “The Biden-Harris Administration has shown that health care access and affordability are essential components of a strong and resilient nation.”
Building Back Together is committed to celebrating the progress made under the Biden-Harris Administration to advance affordable and accessible health care and family support.
