CELEBRATING PRESIDENT BIDEN’S HISTORIC INVESTMENTS IN NEVADA’S INFRASTRUCTURE DURING NATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE WEEK
WASHINGTON, D.C. — This National Infrastructure Week, Building Back Together is celebrating the historic progress made by the Biden-Harris Administration’s investments in Nevada’s infrastructure — investing $3.6 billion to fund 310 projects across the state.
“This National Infrastructure Week marks a pivotal moment as we celebrate the Biden-Harris Administration’s historic investments to upgrade Nevada’s critical infrastructure — all while simultaneously creating thousands of good-paying jobs for workers nationwide. These investments from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Inflation Reduction Act, and more showcase how President Biden is delivering for workers and investing in the long-term success of our nation’s economy,” said Blake Goodman, Building Back Together Communications Director. “As we head into the summer, millions of hardworking Nevadans traveling around the country will see freshly repaired highways, brand new airport terminals, and union crews upgrading our infrastructure as President Biden’s Investing in America agenda gets to work prioritizing investments in their communities and the creation of the jobs of the future, today.”
Notable Infrastructure projects funded by the Biden-Harris Administration include:
- $88.9 million for Washoe County to improve US-395, alleviating congestion and improving safety for drivers and pedestrians in the Reno area.
- The United States’ first-ever high-speed rail project, Brightline West, which will receive up to $3 billion from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and operate between Las Vegas, NV and Rancho Cucamonga, CA.
- $31 million to upgrade Harry Reid International Airport’s baggage handling system.
- $35 million to restore the Newlands Project, which provides irrigated water for 57,000 acres of cropland in western Nevada.
