CELEBRATING PRESIDENT BIDEN’S HISTORIC INVESTMENTS IN ARIZONA’S INFRASTRUCTURE DURING NATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE WEEK

WASHINGTON, D.C. — This National Infrastructure Week, Building Back Together is celebrating the historic progress made by the Biden-Harris Administration’s investments in Arizona’s infrastructure — investing nearly $7.9 billion to fund over 635 projects across the state.

“This National Infrastructure Week marks a pivotal moment as we celebrate the Biden-Harris Administration’s historic investments to upgrade Arizona’s critical infrastructure — all while simultaneously creating thousands of good-paying jobs for workers nationwide. These investments, from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Inflation Reduction Act, and more, showcase how President Biden is delivering for workers and investing in the long-term success of our nation’s economy,” said Blake Goodman, Building Back Together Communications Director. “As we head into the summer, millions of hardworking Arizonans traveling around the country will see freshly repaired highways, brand new airport terminals, and union crews upgrading our infrastructure as President Biden’s Investing in America agenda gets to work prioritizing investments in their communities and the creation of the jobs of the future, today.”

Notable Infrastructure projects funded by the Biden-Harris Administration include:

  • $95 million to widen a section of I-10 in the Gila River Indian Community and Pinal County south of Phoenix to improve travel for commuters.
  • $65 million to reduce flood risks along the Little Colorado River in Winslow, Navajo County — protecting the thousands of people who work and live in the floodplain.
  • More than $200 million to modernize and expand the San Luis I Land Port of Entry.
  • $118 million for the Gila River Indian Community Irrigation Project to bring reclaimed water to the Gila River Indian Community to use to water its crops through water-efficient canals.
