Washington, D.C. — Today, Building Back Together launched a slate of new television and digital ads featuring the stories of real people highlighting President Biden’s plans to lower costs for working families, parents, small business owners, and retirees through the Build Back Better Agenda, as well as a slate of new digital ads to run in target states thanking Members of Congress for supporting critical investments in the Build Back Better agenda for their constituents.

The $5 million dollar television and digital buy is part of a previously announced $10 million dollar campaign by Building Back Together to boost President Biden’s agenda. The new testimonial ads will run through September to deepen the already strong support for the Build Back Better Agenda, including the latest infrastructure deal and the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to creating millions of good-paying jobs, lowering costs for working families, expanding access to affordable child care, and tackling climate change.

The 30-second TV ads “Child Tax Credit” and “Mike” will run on broadcast and cable TV in key markets, including Phoenix, AZ; Atlanta, GA; Manchester, NH; Las Vegas, NV; Philadelphia, PA; and La Crosse, WI. The Child Tax Credit ad highlights this historic tax cut for 39 million working and middle class households across the country, which can be used by everyday families to provide relief from the burden of high costs on essentials, from health care to child care to school supplies. “Mike” showcases the President’s plan to lower costs for blue-collar retirees — including lowering the cost of prescription drugs and strengthening Medicare — by making the ultra-wealthy and big corporations pay their fair share.

The 30-second testimonial digital ads will run on digital platforms in Arizona, Georgia, New Hampshire, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and highlight the real-life impacts of cost-savings in the Build Back Better Agenda for working and middle class Americans — including small business owners like Kriss and working parents like Rick. The testimonial ads highlight that President Biden is on the side of everyday Americans, has a plan to expand affordable access to high-quality child care, and his Build Back Better agenda will lower costs and make essentials like health care and prescription drugs more affordable.

New digital ads also thank key Members of Congress in more than 20 House Districts who have stood up for working people in their communities by putting their support behind the President’s agenda.

“The President’s Build Back Better Agenda is hugely popular because everyday American families need it. From lowering the costs of child care to prescription drug savings, everyday families deserve some relief from the high costs they’re facing for everyday essentials — and that’s exactly what the Build Back Better Agenda will do,” said Danielle Melfi, Building Back Together Executive Director. “We’re aggressively making the case for these policies across the country so that leaders in Washington know that families in their communities urgently want them to deliver on these plans, and thanking Members of Congress who have helped move President Biden’s agenda forward.”

The policies for everyday families in the Build Back Better Agenda are hugely popular with Americans across the country. According to recent polling from ALG Research and commissioned by Building Back Together in July:

  •  A strong majority of Americans support the families-focused policies in the Build Back Better Agenda — following a description of the plan, 58% of Americans support the plan, reflecting a 22-point margin, and are more likely to support an elected official who backs these plans. Nearly three-quarters of people with children at home support the Build Back Better Agenda’s policies for families.
  • Expanding access to long-term care and providing a tax credit to pay for health care premiums also have robust support, and long-term care for the elderly is a top benefit for older and child-free Americans.
  • Importantly, two-thirds of those polled think that the President’s plans will help working families and a majority believe that the plans will help Americans get back to work.
