BUILDING BACK TOGETHER, BLACK WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP COLLECTIVE, SHE WILL RISE ANNOUNCE $1 MILLION DOLLAR CAMPAIGN CELEBRATING CONFIRMATION OF JUDGE JACKSON TO THE SUPREME COURT

TV and digital ads to target Black communities in Atlanta, Milwaukee, and Philadelphia
Campaign also features in-person events in Atlanta, Milwaukee, and Philadelphia celebrating historic news

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In celebration of the historic, bipartisan vote confirming Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to be our next Associate Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court, Building Back Together, Black Women’s Leadership Collective, and She Will Rise are announcing a one million dollar campaign celebrating her confirmation and highlighting how President Biden made good on his historic promise to nominate a Black woman to the Supreme Court.

The campaign includes the ad “Changed,” which will air on TV in Georgia, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania and run on digital and social media platforms targeting Black audiences in Atlanta, Milwaukee, and Philadelphia primarily on Black-owned media outlets and publications. The campaign will also include in-person, grassroots events such as block parties organized with local in-state partners in Atlanta, Milwaukee, and Philadelphia to ensure Americans know President Biden delivered on the historic promise he made during the 2020 campaign.

The ad emphasizes that over the Supreme Court’s 233-year history, “not a single Black woman has served on the Supreme Court,” but “President Biden changed that” by delivering on the historic, bipartisan confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, “one of the most qualified nominees ever” to the Court. It also highlights how Judge Jackson’s historic confirmation “brings our great nation a step closer to its promise.”

Not only does Judge Jackson have more judicial experience than four current justices had when they were nominated – combined – but she has been endorsed by a broad coalition of groups across the ideological spectrum, including dozens of state attorneys general, the Fraternal Order of Police, and survivor justice organizations, among others. She has also received historic supportfrom the American people for her record, evenhandedness and approach to the law.

Building Back Together, Black Women’s Leadership Collective, and She Will Rise have previously jointly announced investments in TV, digital, and radio after the nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson by President Biden featuring the ads “Qualified” and “Exceptional” that underscored Judge Jackson’s deep qualifications, extensive experience, and inspiring personal story.
