BBT ANNOUNCES SIX-FIGURE AD CAMPAIGN AFTER PRESIDENT BIDEN CELEBRATED SIGNING OF HISTORIC, BIPARTISAN GUN SAFETY LAW

Six-figure TV and digital communicates to Black and Latino audiences in PA, NV, WI

WASHINGTON, D.C. — After President Biden marked the signing of the bipartisan Safer Communities Act into law this week, Building Back Together is announcing a six-figure ad campaign to highlight the president’s fight against gun violence and celebrate the passage of the most significant, bipartisan gun safety legislation in decades. The ad, “Bottom Line,” describes the impact of the law, which includes strengthened background checks for those under 21, addresses loopholes, and invests in mental health and crisis intervention programs.

The ad campaign communicating to Black and Latino audiences in Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Wisconsin coincides with a celebration at the White House yesterday, as President Biden honored gun safety activists, survivors, and families of those lost to gun violence who have fought for this moment for decades.

“President Biden made a promise to the families of victims in Uvalde, Texas, Buffalo, New York, and countless other communities across the country grieving loved ones lost to gun violence: to take action and save lives,” said Building Back Together Executive Director Danielle Melfi. “The bipartisan Safer Communities Act is a testament not only to the leadership of President Biden and members of Congress working across the aisle, but to the power of everyday Americans who stood together and called for change. This ad campaign emphasizes the historic nature of this moment and President Biden’s ongoing commitment to reduce gun violence and make our communities safer.”

This ad campaign builds on more than $30 million in spending to date from Building Back Together highlighting the positive impacts of President Biden’s agenda.

Transcript of “Bottom Line”:

Gun violence is tearing our country apart.

For the first time in decades, Congress has done something about it.

This new law addresses loopholes, strengthens background checks for those under 21, and provides funding for mental health and crisis intervention programs.

Some doubted it was possible, but President Biden got it done.

And Joe Biden knows we need more action to keep our communities safe.

It’s about saving lives. That’s the bottom line.
