AS SENATE RETURNS FROM RECESS, PRESIDENT BIDEN’S BUILD BACK BETTER AGENDA REMAINS OVERWHELMINGLY POPULAR

Polls show that support for the Build Back Better Agenda continued to grow as Build Back Better War Room blankets airwaves and surpasses goal of 1,000 events and actions highlighting the agenda over recess

Washington, D.C. — As the Senate returns from recess, the Build Back Better Agenda is more popular than ever. Recent polling shows that President Biden’s Build Back Better Agenda is not only overwhelmingly popular, but also that support for the plan has deepened during the critical August recess period. July polling from GBAO shows the President’s agenda was popular, with 54 percent of voters supporting the agenda, while recent August polling from multiple groups including Navigator, Data for Progress, and Morning Consult consistently show that over 60 percent of voters support the agenda. The immense support for the President’s agenda and its individual components comes as no surprise given that the historic legislation will create millions of good-paying jobs, lower costs, and cut taxes for everyday families.

Over recess, the Build Back Better War Room led by Building Back Together launched an aggressive campaign to bolster support for the agenda — surpassing our goal of 1,000 in state events and actions, putting boots on the ground and on screen at more than 100 in-person and virtual town halls, and surpassing our paid spending goal with $110 million to date from progressive groups to increase support for the agenda on the airwaves. The Build Back Better War Room is not ending its efforts with the close of recess, but will continue to double down with $40 million in additional paid media and organizing efforts to ensure the Build Back Better Agenda crosses the finish line.

“Over the last several weeks, we have seen enormous support in communities across the country for the Build Back Better Agenda — but one thing we haven’t seen is organized opposition,” said Building Back Together Executive Director Danielle Melfi. “The bottom line is that we out-organized and out-spent the opposition over recess as the support for this agenda increased, because we have a message that resonates with the American people. We are doubling down in our organizing and paid media campaigns to get this agenda passed, because the time is now to build back better for American families.”
